Speakers mounted in the ceiling or within walls have been considered the preferred method for producing distributed audio for architectural applications given their space saving advantages.

With traditional passive speakers, the audio is generated using a combination of woofer cones, mid-range cones, tweeters, cross-over networks, and large overhanging magnetic structures making them heavy and generally requiring clearances of considerable depth for mounting. In addition to the speakers, remotely installed amplification and processing is provided by multi-channel controllers and or discrete power amplifiers with access using keypads or system specific applictions on selected devices, depending on the specification and scope of application.

Aural Smart Speaker is the new way forward.  This pioneering system has all of the acoustic advantages of a large woofer-cone diameter with a diaphragm radiating area of 35.375 in^2 (227 cm^2) and a mounted depth of only 1.5 inches (38.1 mm).  With its very low weight of less than two pounds and extremely slim profile, it can be installed practically anywhere using familiar mounting toggles with a maximum of 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) mounting thickness.

While typical passive hidden speakers rely primarily on remotely installed amplification and control, the Aural Smart Speaker incorporates all the necessary components for full functionality into one self-sufficient platform enabling uncompromising performance.  We have developed a low-voltage multi-function electronics package integrated into the designed specific form-factor which delivers amplification and processing, Ethernet and Wi-Fi network connectivity, multi-zone Bluetooth, Airplay-2, and Spotify Connect streaming capabilities, with input/output line-level and power pass-through.
